Wayne Elliot Memorial Circuit Race (27 June 2009)

Found this poking around Bikereg, and this looks interesting - it's in our backyard, only has 2 races - Masters 35+ and 45+, has kids races, and the course looks pretty safe/flat- 5.6mi circuit.  I'm interested but not committed yet . . . anyone else to help put me over the edge?

Sounds prudent.  I highly endorse Working Man's SR - a highlight of my Cat 5 experience for sure.  individual TT, road race, and the circle of death.  And as a Cat 5, I really appreciated that it was a Cat 5 only category - not mixed with 4's.  I will be doing it again this year, but waiting a bit longer to register just to make sure schedules allow.
One last suggestion for experience - the weekly Wells Ave training races in Newton count toward 5 to 4 upgrade experience/points.  I've never done it, but it's an option for you. . .

I'll most likely be doing this race (35+). I went and checked out the course the other day. There is a nice gradual climb just enough to put the hurt on during a race. However the backside of the hill has really crappy pavement. I'm hoping they patch it up before the race. This race is very close to me so I will be doing a pre ride or two before race day....anyone interested in joining me one of these days? Hope to see some of you guys there!

Alright, Jack, that's all I needed.  I'm registered.  One of two at the moment . . . NEED MORE!   Hope Karin recovers in time to do it, too . . .

Okay.... I'm officially registered! I'll see you Saturday morning Dan. Anyone else joining us?

Can someone confirm this for me; I'm a cat 5 racer, so I'm out of luck for entering this one, correct?

I think that's right; I think you need to at least be a 4 (like me).  But it might not hurt to ask the race promoter and/or maybe NEBRA for an upgrade now?  Just a thought. . . .

At this point my riding experience includes one race and about a half-dozen group rides, so even if I could, I'd be hesitant to upgrade and have my fellow racers assume that I have a clue as to what I'm doing. ;)
It would've been nice to get some experience at this race; its about a 10 minute bike ride from my front door to the starting line.
I've been checking out the Working Man's Stage Race that's running in Amesbury in July. It looks like it might be a good chance for me to get several races worth of experience within just a few days.

Nice, a first annual that's close by. I'd be up for the 35+ race. Good warmup for the Exeter crit. I might be able to hang in with the field if Dan lets me draft the entire time. I've noticed that he provides some sick wind coverage!
