Thoughts from Saturday's Lake Sunapee RR:
- My first Masters race - racing nirvana; finally, a benefit to being older. Farewell, annoying and dangerous 4 races . . . this was just too good.
- Hills - no particular killers, just enough in succession to slowly take it out of the legs . . . the final one to the finish doesn't look like much until you try it at the end of racing 46 over those other hills . . . my legs crumbled
- Shout-outs for ECV on the last turn into town from a flag-waving race-course volunteer; thanks Karin!!
- Wind - it was gusty; exactly what you needed in your face to complement those hills . . .
- Mark Bissell's Race Log accuracy - Mark's log from last year noted fast descents, logged at 47.5mph; I laughed to myself when I noted exactly 48mph on two descents on the backside . . . I needed the laugh
- Dave Halligan taking 8th in the Cat 5 35+ - (1) get a jersey, (2) get the upgrade and do Masters!
- Terry & Jim - a heavy helping of hills this week; you lament, but you love it; nice work
- Marzelli's Deli - to the sweet gourmet deli on the way out of town, thanks for filling my empty tank in style for the ride home
