Well, I remember when I first heard of the race in Auburn NH with the funny name, and since it was only a 30 minute drive and I wasn't in great 'cross shape, I signed up expecting a typical small venue, low turn-out, half-assed race. To my surprise, it was a very well run race and an excellent course. The bonus was that back then the crowds were small so it was a great first race of the year. I was very impressed how a flat, basic venue could yield such a fun and challenging course. This year was no exception. Although the days of small fields are over. More than 400 racers came on a beautiful late summer day.
Congrats to all the ecv racers who came, especially Kevin B and John A in my race. It was hard with Bold and Hines at the front but we all did well.
