Seaside shop ride

Rode the Seaside shop ride today, nice loop but would recommend not going through Ipswich center to get to Linebrook. The road is really bad and torn up, lots of construction in town and not a fun place to take a group through. Instead, why not cut off Argilla and take the back  way that the TdEC used to get to the intersection of 1A/Linebrook?

Update, as I live in downtown Ipswich -- they just did some reasonably nice patching on 1A/133 downtown - much better than it's been.  The rumor is the town's run out of $$ to do proper re-paving, and I worry this nice patching might support that rumor.  But the good news is that it's much better now.
But if I had a choice, I still would go with your suggestion -- but I might suggest instead of the back turns via Argilla, stay on 1A/133 to the first split at the South Green just as you approach town center.  Instead of following left, stay straight on County St., after 4-way stop, take your 2nd left onto East St, which turns into High St. at top of hill - this is part of the Tour d'Essex.  and High st. gets you down to 1A/Linebrook (dunkin donuts).
