Description: : The long route is a wonderful tour into the Southern New Hampshire countryside. There are some excellent stretches of road along the Merrimac River that are really beautiful. But, there are also some hills in them there hills! The short ride travels through the beautiful marshes in the Newburyport area.
This is a great opportunity to take a tour of the roads that are the favorites of our Northern Essex County brethren at the Riverside Cycle shop. Come and check out Aaron’s Loop.
Level:There will be several groups. The logical minimum for the long ride is about Intermediate: 15-17 MPH Ave. Brisk to vigorous riding with good bike handling skills including paceline skills. Riders should be self-sufficient. There will be some re-grouping.
To be comfortable in the short ride group the speed and skill level would have a lower minimum: 14-15 MPH Ave. Good bike handling skills including group-riding skills. Riders should be self sufficient. There will be some re-grouping.
If those descriptions sound too challenging, we recommend trying out the evening shop rides to get ready.
