Description: Call him Coley, the owner of Harborside Cycle, has laid out a great pair of loops with his shop in the middle. The first loop is an Essex County favorite around Cape Ann and through Rockport that returns to the shop to either refill your water bottle for the second loop, or call it a day. The second loop features some excellent back roads in Gloucester and Essex before turning back through Manchester. This ride offers some rollers to challenge the legs.
Level: There will be several groups. The logical minimum for the long ride is about Intermediate: 15-17 MPH Ave. Brisk to vigorous riding with good bike handling skills including paceline skills. Riders should be self-sufficient. There will be some re-grouping.
To be comfortable in the short ride group the speed and skill level would have a lower minimum: 14-15 MPH Ave. Good bike handling skills including group-riding skills. Riders should be self sufficient. There will be some re-grouping.
If those descriptions sound too challenging, we recommend trying out the evening shop rides to get ready.
