Sunday, June 8th, marked the 7th annual Kids PMC Jimmy Fund fundraiser ride located in Bradley Palmer Park. With the beautiful weather, over 120 kids, ages 3 – 14, were entered for the days events. The days events included a little tykes bike course, 3 mile road ride up to the gate by Pingree and back, and a 4 mile mountain bike ride that went up and over Moon Hill.

This years pedal partner was 15 year old Kenneth Ott from Topsfield. Diagnosed with leukemia in early 2007 and currently in remission, this years kids ride is in honor of Kenneth and others like him and their courageous battle against this cancer.

There were about 30 volunteers helping with all of the activities. In addition to the biking, there was face painting, craft making, a silent auction, food and music from a DJ. Stu from Bay Road Bikes volunteered his time for pre-ride bike service, and at times he was quite busy with all sorts of bikes and all sorts of issues.

This years Kids PMC was a fun day for all. About $15,000 was raised for this worthy cause and from the sounds of it, the kids can’t wait for next years challenge. Look for info on next years Kids PMC 2009 at
