Yes the rumors are sadly true.

Matt crashed in the Beanpot Crit at Tufts Sunday April 4th and fractured his femur at the ball part of the joint, the call is a broken hip. He had surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, stayed in Boston until Weds and is now home for a long estimated year of crutches, walkers, canes, eventually bikes and lots of rehab stuff.

There's a chance that if the ball part of the joint does not heal correctly due to lack of blood flow, that they would do a replacement after about a year. We all optimistic that since Matt is so stubborn and quite the perfectionist, that his rehab will go super smooth and he will be all set with his new titanium bits.

Feel free to give a call if you are in the area and perhaps stop by to visit if Matt's feeling up to the company. So far, it's been really great to see all the friendly faces!
