Great GP!
Hats off to Paul and crew, Great Brews, Tom Stevens, JD Bilodeau, Richard Fries and Chris Zigmont, Marka, Diane and the rest of the officials, City of Gloucester, mother nature and all the racers for making this years gp one to remember. I think it is sweet that we host one of the premiere events in the country.
Sucker Brook
Well, I remember when I first heard of the race in Auburn NH with the funny name, and since it was only a 30 minute drive and I wasn't in great 'cross shape, I signed up expecting a typical small venue, low turn-out, half-assed race. To my surprise, it was a very well run race and an excellent course. The bonus was that back then the crowds were small so it was a great first race of the year. I was very impressed how a flat, basic venue could yield such a fun and challenging course. This year was no exception. Although the days of small fields are over.
Time for 'cross
Boy the weather sure did turn fast. It's always bittersweet for me because I'll miss summer but I love 'cross. John A says he is going to be the new cross czar at BP this year. Hats off to him for stepping up once again. I think he might start it next week. I can't wait.
So, Sunday 8/30/2009 I am doing a long 'cross ride sort of randonee for those of you who can't wait either. I posted an event on the website on tuesday but for some reason it is impossible to find. If you are interested in coming, here is the link.
