Great Brewers Gran Prix of Gloucester: Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed!
With a new sponsor, a bigger and better beer garden, and being part of the NACT and Verge Series along with UCI status, we are expecting a record turnout at the Great Brewers Gran Prix of Gloucester the weekend of 3 & 4 October 2009.
As usual, we can't pull it off without your help and are looking for volunteers. Ask anyone who has helped in the past -- it's a blast!
Gloucester GP Featured Brewers Update
Great news just in from the Gloucester GP organizers, ECV of course. We all know about the beer garden, but now we have a list of the featured brewers for the weekend's festivities. The Beer Garden will be serving from the following fine brewers:
Bob Beal - Long Time New England Race Supporter Passed Away
This just in form Mark Hagen about the passing this week of Bob Beal at the age of 82.
Bob was a tireless supporter of cycling in the US. He was a long time USCF Board member and provided the well known (and coveted) "Bob Beal Medals" for many many races throughout New England. His energy and spirit will be missed.
Mid-Summer ECV Update
I hope you're enjoying the (finally) summer-like weather (I hope I didn't just jinx it).
I wanted to update you on a few things ECV.
ECV/Riverside Cycles Shop Ride - Awesome
About 18 folks showed up for the annual ECV/Riverside Cycles Shop Ride today. The ride started out with Newburyport's summer fog and cool temps, but quickly warmed up as we headed for the hills inland. A couple of folks chose the 20 miler, kicking back and enjoying the quiet country roads. The rest crossed the river and up we went to do some climbing. Aaron kept the pace comfortable and the group intact (no easy job!) which at the end of the ride turned out to be just a fantastic Merrimac Valley tour. I think everyone really enjoyed the ride.
12th Annual Kanc Ride - 2009
Joe has put together the 12th Annual Kanc Ride for Saturday, June 27th. The weather should be perfect and I believe everyone is ready to feel a little sunshine on the back. For additional info:
